All is quilt on the home front!!!!

Day 2....
I lay in bed wishing sleep would come. i have watched
Leah Day free motion post.... i have watched Jenny at Missouri quilt co. and been through pinterest but still my eyes are not tired. i keep thinking about the mini quilt i made today from 5 fat quarters to test out using my new twister templete.....i love it!!!!!!
and it sits half quilted on my machine. the day got away from me and i just cant wait untill my morning stuff with the boys is done and little Bitty ( 13 month old ) is down for his nap. to get it finished :)

step one
for the mini quilt ( about place mate size)
pick 5 fat quaters
I picked 3 prints for center blocks
making sure 1 was very bright and would phop
cut 8 - 5x5 in. sq of each fabric
for my other two fabrics
i chose marble type but solid would be great.
cut 5 - 3in by 22 inches from on fabric for border
cut 5 - 2.5 in by 22 inches for binding
(save all scraps to peice for back)

step two
sew 5x5 squares as shown in picture
( sorry no picture of this step)

step three
add 3 in. border to the shorter sides first
save extra you trim an add this to other fabric for longer border side.

step four
Starting in the upper left corner seam of the border and first block. line up the cutting templete and cut around it. sorry no picture of this step the directions that come with it really help explain this step.
i cut my rows going down the short side and sewed as i went ....mixing up the pieces would have been a pain.

this is what i ended up with when i sewed it back together!!!!
